Is There A Big Difference Between A Contract Or A Pay As You Go For A Mobile Phone?

Mobile phones will either come with a pay as you go sim card or a contract sim. There are pros and cons to each of these options so before deciding which one to buy, you should take these into consideration first. Below are some of the good and bad points to both a contract phone and a pay as you go phone; hopefully this will help you come to your decision.

- When you take out a contract phone you are usually tied into it for a specific period of time and you may be stuck with this even if you are unhappy with the service.

- With a pay as you go phone on the other hand, you are not tied into any contract and you can switch to another provider whenever you want.

- With a contract you get so many calls and texts each month in return for a specific amount of money. So for example, you might pay twenty quid every month and get 200 minutes of free calls. If you go over your 200 minutes then you will have to pay for this at a higher rate although you may be able to buy extra credit.

- However you have no limit with a pay and go phone, provided of course, that you have credit on the phone to pay for the calls. Obviously if you run out of credit then you won't be able to call or text anyone.

- With a standard package you never have to worry about running out of credit.

- With a pay and go phone, you normally have to pay for the phone yourself. However most standard contracts come with the phone included and that is one of the major reasons why people will decide to go for a contract over a pay as you go.
